The sessions

Four ways to make something together

Every KAIO session is 90 minutes, set in a London pub, and designed around a single principle: when hands are busy, people connect. Choose your medium.

Grout & Gather — Mosaic session

Mosaic

Build something tile by tile

Grout & Gather

Using ceramic and glass tiles, your team pieces together a mosaic coaster — a small, satisfying object that takes real focus to make. The repetitive, tactile nature of placing tiles means hands stay busy and conversation flows without effort.

You make

A mosaic coaster to take home

Why it works

Mosaic is forgiving and meditative. There's no wrong way to arrange tiles — only interesting choices. The shared focus of a table full of people quietly creating is surprisingly powerful.

Mould & Mingle — Air dry clay session

Air dry clay

Shape something with your hands

Mould & Mingle

Working with air dry clay, your team sculpts small objects — a pinch pot, a dish, a tiny figure. Clay is endlessly forgiving: you can squash it, start again, laugh at what went wrong. No experience needed, just hands and curiosity.

You make

A hand-sculpted clay piece to take home (air dried)

Why it works

Clay demands presence. You can't scroll your phone with clay on your hands. That enforced focus — combined with the tactile pleasure of the material — creates a rare kind of shared attention between teammates.

Paint & Pour — Acrylic paint session

Acrylic paint

Brush, wine and unwind

Paint & Pour

A guided painting session with welcome drinks. Each person works on their own canvas with loose direction — enough to feel supported, free enough to feel genuinely creative. The results are always surprising, always personal.

You make

A painted canvas to take home

Why it works

Painting lowers the guard. When everyone is slightly out of their comfort zone together, something shifts. People talk differently. The pub setting keeps it relaxed — this is not an art class, it's a session.

Cut & Collage — Mixed media — paper, textile & found materials session

Mixed media — paper, textile & found materials

Mix, layer and make mess

Cut & Collage

Scissors, paper, fabric scraps, magazine pages, glue. Collage is the most liberating of the KAIO sessions — there are no rules, only interesting combinations. Your team tears, cuts, layers and assembles mixed media pieces that are entirely their own.

You make

A mixed media collage piece to take home

Why it works

Collage removes the fear of the blank page. You're always working with something — rearranging, responding, reacting. The mess is the point. Teams that laugh together over a pile of paper scraps leave closer than they arrived.
